Summary: To achieve success in the Junior Cert, you need to be able to apply a range of skills to various different problems that you encounter. You will need to build up these skills which you will do with daily exercises from Monday to Friday. You will need to be able to analyse a situation, recall all the knowledge that might apply to that situation and use your skills and knowledge together to solve the problem.

So, you will need to learn skills and also memorise information. To do this you will need memory techniques which are provided and must be practised.

Sunday Exercise: Memory Techniques
• Read the following page on memory techniques and then use image linking to link a list of 10 random objects together
• Ask a friend or family member to write down a list of 10 random nouns and take some time using your imagination to link them together. See how well you can remember the list.
Monday Exercise: Number

• Pick a new list of 10 nouns and link them together into a story to remember them. Check you remember them perfectly. If you didn't, see if you can figure out what you could change in your story to help you be perfect.
