Objective: The purpose of this exercise is to practice creating formulas for word questions of different types.
Help content is :

The temperature in Ireland is -8 degrees LESS than in France.

If the temperature in Ireland is -5 degrees. What temperature is it in France?

Step 1) Create a method using easier numbers

The temperature in Ireland is 3 degrees LESS than in France.

If the temperature in Ireland is 10 degrees. What temperature is it in France?

Answer 10 + 3 .

Method :  I would add the two numbers together (10 and 3)

Step 2) Apply the method to the question
Method :  I would add the two numbers together (-8 and -5)
Answer  -8 + -5 = -13

The temperature in Ireland is -8 degrees MORE than in France.

If the temperature in Ireland is -5 degrees. What temperature is it in France?

Step 1) Create a method using easier numbers

The temperature in Ireland is 3 degrees more than in France.

If the temperature in Ireland is 10 degrees. What temperature is it in France?

Answer 10 - 3 .

Method :  I would subtract the difference (3) from the temperature in Ireland (10).

Step 2) Apply the method to the question
Method :  I would subtract the difference (-5) from the temperature in Ireland (-8).

Answer  -8 - -5
= -8 + 5
= -3
