Adding and Subracting are OPERATIONs that we perform or carry out on numbers.

Even or Odd is a PROPERTY of a natural number. It tells us something interesting about the number.

An EVEN number is an Integer that when you divide it by 2, the result is also a Integer number.

An ODD number is an Integer that is NOT an even number (i.e. all the other Integers).

Remember
The Natural numbers are the counting numbers.  We use them to count how many things we have

The Integers are the same as the Natural numbers but include positive and negative whole numbers and also the value 0.
So.
An even number is a whole number that can be divided by 2. i.e. The amount of things we have can be shared equally between two people.

An odd number is a whole number that can't be divided by 2. i.e. The amount of things we have can NOT be shared equally between two people.

Even numbers always end in 0,2,4,6 or 8

Odd numbers always end in 1,3,5,7 or 9
